Associate Professor of Stratigraphic and Sedimentary Geology (SSD GEOS-02/B) at the Department of Engineering of the University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli”. She graduated with honors in Geological Sciences from the University of Naples Federico II and earned a PhD in Earth Sciences from “La Sapienza” University of Rome, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the same institution. Since 1995 she has been active in academic research, first as a researcher and, since 2001, as an associate professor. Member of the Geological Society of Italy since 1984 and the International Association of Sedimentologists since 1990.
Her scientific activity mainly focuses on the stratigraphy and sedimentology of Mesozoic carbonate systems, the Quaternary evolution of Tyrrhenian coastal plains, subsidence processes, the relationships between geology and human activity, and the study of artificial cave systems in southern Italy. She has coordinated and participated in numerous national and international research projects, collaborating with academic institutions and territorial authorities. On these topics, she is also responsible or co-responsible for many research projects and technical-scientific agreements.
She is the author of more than 100 scientific publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings. She has contributed to the preparation of sheets of the Geological Map of Italy and has edited volumes and international special issues. She has presented the results of her research at more than 120 national and international conferences.
